Foundation is one of those products that I don't like to change often as once I like a product it's very hard for me to switch it up to something new. For a while I've heard great things about the new Nars Light Reflecting Foundation. This new formula is made with both skincare and makeup ingredients meaning that the more you wear the foundation the better your skin will look and feel over time. The finish is meant to be a lit from within glow, hence the name having light reflecting in it. This is very different for me as I usually prefer a matte finish however now that I've been wearing it I can tell you that it does in fact look lovely once on.
The first couple of things you'll notice when you try this foundation is that it actually has a pump as gone are the days when you had to buy a pump separately for a Nars foundation (with the exception of the Sheer Glow Foundation for some reason?). Also you'll notice that the consistency is a lot thinner than other foundations. As this is the case I think it's best to apply this foundation with a beauty blender because then you can control exactly how much you want to put on and the way in which you blend it in. I bought the shade Deauville which is a light warm toned neutral shade which hopefully will work for me in the winter too as it's not that much different looking from my real skin colour. There are loads of shades to choose from, so you'll definitely be able to find the right one for you.

I was pleasantly surprised when it came to the coverage as for a thin foundation this covers the face very well! You can also easily build it up, especially when using a beauty blender if you just dab more foundation onto the parts that need more coverage and then it'll easily blend in to create a seamless finish. The only downfall I've found with this product is that due to the dewiness of the finish of the foundation, it lasts about 5 or 6 hours before it needs re-powdering, which for me is mainly on the chin and the nose. For oily skin people I would highly recommend powdering this straight after application and then if you want to you can always use a setting spray as well. It may still need powdering later on in the day depending on the weather for example however at least this technique will give it more chance to last longer.
What I think is unique about this foundation is the way it looks. Even after you've powdered it you are still left with a radiant finish which never usually happens when using other foundations. Seeing as glowy makeup is a trend, I can see why this foundation has gone viral on socials. From using this product for three weeks now I can confidently recommend it. I personally think that no matter what your skin type is everyone will love it!

An important note about this foundation is that it has 50 shades, 50!! This makes me so happy because nowadays with all the technology and chemical advances we have, I think that everyone should be able to find their right shade, no matter what. This is especially different for powder foundations because normally when I see powder foundations in stores I find that they only have say 10 shades at the most, so to have 50 is just incredible. I chose shade 150 after doing the shade match on the Fenty Beauty website, however once I got the shade I realised that it was too dark for me, so a couple of days later I bought shade 140. In this review I'm actually wearing 150 because I want to keep this review authentic and it was the first shade I actually tried, but from now on it will be my summer shade.
So let's talk about the packaging first. I love it because it's very compact, sleek, it looks very modern and yet it contains two mirrors (one that is stuck to the lid when you open it and a magnified one underneath the foundation) and a sponge which is great while topping up on the go (even though we aren't on the go much at the moment, hopefully we will be soon). It has the shade number printed very clearly on the back which is great for trying to find it in your makeup storage.
I decided to apply this foundation in two ways: one with the sponge provided and one with a Real Techniques buffing brush. I found that they both gave the same coverage however it took me a lot longer to put the foundation on with the sponge than the brush, so I feel that the buffing brush is best for putting on the whole layer of foundation and the sponge is useful for touch ups.
Coverage wise it's a solid medium as it covers most of your redness, pigmentation and scars from spots or even tiny spots, but if you have any major spots or dark circles (like me) then it's best to put concealer on in those areas first and then put the powder on. I found the powder set my under eye concealer really well, but I'm still not sure if I'd use it as a proper setting powder because it's more pigmented than your normal setting powder, it does work well though!

For a while now I've been looking for a product that I can put on quickly with or without a brush or sponge so that I can get out of the house faster than if I were to put on something that was full coverage. Let's say you are literally just popping out to do a food shop or you just want to wear something that's light coverage for a change. Well I think I've finally found the product for that! The relatively new (or newish) Lancome Skin Feels Good Hydrating Skin Tint is Lancome's version of a tinted moisturiser however it does have some coverage and the best thing is that it's actually oil free which is great for us oily to combination skin people as it means it will last longer on us, especially in the warmer weather. I bought it in the shade 010C Porceline and it's held within a tube of 32ml of product instead of a glass bottle which is good if you want to put it in your hand luggage if you are going on holiday this summer. Also it has a spf 23 rating so again it would be great to use if you are going to be in the sun however I do recommend using a normal spf underneath the foundation just in case of any sun burn.
Another brilliant design feature of this skin tint is that it actually comes with a pump so you can dispense as much out as you need without wasting any product which I think is great! Formula wise this product feels lovely and light on the skin, it glides on smoothly and has a kind of mouse like texture, so there's no weight to it what's so ever. Performance wise if you don't powder it then it will give you a nice glowy finish however I have to always powder my face otherwise it will disappear within at least an hour of leaving it un- powdered, but if you do like a dewy finish then it will be good for you. Don't worry if you do have oily skin as once you have powdered it the foundation will last pretty much all day, I would say 8 or 9 hours before it starts disappearing in places. Overall I think it's a great skin tint with a light to medium buildable coverage. The only let down is the shade range as it only comes in 7 shades (at least in the UK it's 7 shades) and that it won't cover your under eye circles much, so if that does bother you just put your under eye concealer on first, then go in with the foundation.
First off I realised that this shade was a great colour choice for my skin tone as it matched my skin pretty much perfectly which was great. It applied very well and smoothed over all my pores and considering I didn't put any concealer on it actually covered my spots and blemishes reasonably well. When I applied it I noticed that it had a slightly tacky feeling to it which was good actually as it made me feel like it would last on my skin as it felt like it wasn't going to slip and slide around my face. It leaves you with a satin finish so it's not super matte or too glowy, however I still powdered my face after putting it on as I know that no matter how good a foundation is it will still disappear if I don't apply powder to it.
In terms of staying power it stayed on well for most of the day, however it did disappear a bit around and on the nose area and my skin did look a bit more dewy towards the end of the day. For that reason I wouldn't buy it, or at least not straightaway as I feel for the price it should last a bit longer as in the foundation shouldn't disappear off parts of the face. Maybe I could give it a go when it's less hot outside and when my skin is a bit drier like during Autumn and Winter but I still think it's a good foundation and if you like your high end foundations it's definitely one to try out.
Not too long ago I received a newsletter e-mail from L'Oreal saying that people could try out their new Nude Magique Cushion foundation, so I filled out my details and then patiently waited for the foundation to arrive so that I could try it out and review it. Not too long after that it arrived and I tried it straight away because I was so excited to use this product as I've never tried anything like it before. I know other brands started making them before (I think Lancome may have been the first?) however this is the first drugstore version so it's quite exciting.
I decided to pick the shade 03 and luckily it pretty much matches my skin tone perfectly so that was lucky! Sometimes when it comes to samples you can pick totally the wrong shade and then it ruins everything which is not great, but thank goodness I didn't this time haha. Anyway this is a very lightweight foundation but I do think it can be built up if you wanted it to provide more coverage for you. One good thing for this time of year is that it has SPF 29, so if you are out in the sun it will provide some sun protection for you which is fab!
As you can see once opened you get a sponge applicator to apply the foundation with. I actually think it's quite a good sponge to apply it with, the only thing I would say is because it's quite a small sponge you will need to wash it after a few uses, at least once a week. I like that you get a mirror with it, it just adds to the cute packaging of the whole thing.
This is what it looks like inside once you've lifted the lid. You see the 'cushion' part straight away and underneath that is where the liquid foundation is. So all you do is get the sponge applicator, pat it into the cushion foundation and then when you apply it you can either pat it in or you can glide it across you're face. What I liked about this is that it was pretty quick to apply and you also didn't need much of the product to stretch around the whole face which is good, but like I mentioned before you will need to add another layer if you want a more medium type of coverage. I still powdered my face afterwards becuase otherwise my makeup will just disappear, so if you have oily-combination skin just keep that in mind, but if you have drier skin then there probably won't be as much need to powder.

Recently as I've been reading blogs and watching Youtube videos, I've noticed that a new foundation has been stealing the show when it comes to the new affordable makeup products that are out right now. Meet the new L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24H-Matte foundation. This foundation is meant to be 'lightweight, non-cakey' and have '24H matte perfection' for your skin. On the tube it says that the texture is medium, the coverage is high and of course the finish is matte. I definitely agree with this, even though I still do wear concealer under it just to make sure that I have all my dark circles and imperfections covered as I do that out of habit. The only thing I need to point out with this foundation is that because it is such a matte formula you need to make sure that you moisturise well because otherwise it does catch onto dry patches which doesn't look that great. I have oily to combination skin so usually I put a light layer of moisturiser on, but when I wear this I put a bit more on just in case I do have any dry patches that it may cling to.
Apart from that I will tell you why I love this foundation and why I had to purchase it as soon as I saw loads of amazing reviews on it. So first of all if you do have combination to oily skin you will leap with joy to know that a foundation is completely matte as it means you will only need to use a dusting of powder on top of it, or nothing at all. For this product I use a dusting of powder just to make sure everything does set well in place and that makes it last pretty much all day. I find the coverage does hide any redness and blemishes which is fab so you don't need to worry about any spots poking through your foundation. Other things I love is that it blends like a dream which is surprising for a matte foundation. As it blends so well I use my fingers to blend it in because you don't really need a brush to do it for you. The colour I got 12 Natural Rose is a wonderful colour match for my skin as it's the closest shade to my skin that I've ever encountered from a foundation, it's only a tiny bit darker than my actual skin tone, but you can barely notice so that's good. Lastly I adore the packing because it's in a tube, so it's very practical to store, put in your handbag or take with you travelling.

Hey everyone, today I've got a foundation review for you. I've been trying the L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation. About a month or maybe longer ago L'Oreal were doing this promotional thing on their website where you could request to get a free sample of the True Match foundation in the shade that they predicted was right for you. It arrived about 2 weeks ago so I've tried it a few times to test it out. In terms of it being my 'true match' I would say it's the closest shade to my skin tone, however it is a tad on the darker side, but I think for the summer months it will go really well with my slightly tanned skin. Consistency wise it's like your typical liquid foundation so it's not too runny or too rigid, so it's easy to blend. I'd say the coverage is medium, but you could probably build it up to a higher coverage. What I also really liked was that it lasted pretty much all day on me, so around 8 hours or so. I did powder my skin, but I don't think it would slip around too much, but if you have combination to oily skin I would still powder it just in case it moves around a bit. Overall though I'm really impressed with this foundation and when it gets round to the summer months I will probably buy a full version of this foundation.
