The older you get the sooner you realise that trends literally do come back around again. Now that I'm in my mid 20s I actually remember the current trends of the noughties that are making a revival right now. These include the wide leg jeans, cropped tops, small handbags and trainers. This was bound to happen as in recent years we've had the 70s, 80s and 90s in fashion and even though the 90s trend is still here, now the 00s are here too.
I have fond memories of the 2000s because I was a child and when you're a child everything seems amazing, the only things you care about are playing with your friends, children's tv and following every move that your favourite boyband makes. I was too young to enjoy the trends of the early 00s, so now it's the perfect time for me to embrace what I missed. The only trend that I still can't quite let go of is the skinny jeans.
It was 2008 and we had to endure almost the whole decade wearing the dreadful bootcut jeans. Not quite skinny, but too slim to be flares, these jeans were low waisted so sat literally just on your hip bone and the legs always touched the floor meaning that if you were stuck in a downpour then you're jeans would be ruined. I think that because of this downfall skinny jeans were like to meteorite that came crashing down to earth, but this meteorite saved us instead of killing us. Suddenly we had a par of jeans that you could wear with anything- boots, heels, sandals, trainers and you can wear them with any kind of tops including vest tops, tunics, long sleeve tops. It was great! Also skinny jeans make every body shape feel and look amazing because it contours to the shape of your legs and bum perfectly. Another important point is how comfortable they are. I used to buy the Topshop Joni and Jamie jeans (RIP) and they came in so many different leg lengths, widths and you could also buy a petite and tall fit too. They were by far the comfiest out of any brands I've tried. Black skinny jeans were also the key item for any rock and roll look. seen on celebrities such as Kate Moss who would wear them with both black boots and ballet flats.
However that was over 10 years ago now and 2017 was the year that we started seeing straight jeans appear. Maybe this was the start of the change that was about to happen. Straight jeans are still slim but they don't sit close to the legs like skinny jeans do. Again I bought my straight jeans from Topshop. They were called the Orson jeans and they were high waisted jeans that had a 90s look to them, but sadly they were only around for a couple of years.
Even though I'm quite excited for the wide jeans revolution, I still can't help but feel sorry for my beloved skinny's. I haven't put them all at the back of the wardrobe yet as my black skinny jeans are great to wear for work and for nights out with a fancy top. I'm sure skinny jeans will come back in fashion in another 5 to 10 years when the now children of this decade will be teenagers (now that makes me feel old!!).

I don't have any major hang ups when it comes to the way my body looks however one thing I realise is that the older I get the harder shopping for my shape is because as you get older you tend to need to dress in a more formal manner, whether it's for work or events it's something that's inevitable, so when you have a body like a curveless teenager but you are in your 20s then it gets difficult.
The problem with me is that I'm around the 5ft 2 mark in height, maybe just under on a bad day, I'm pretty much flat chested as my boobs are tiny however my bum is not actually flat- in fact it's the only part of my body with curves, it's my one curve haha! With that in mind when it comes to both day dresses and evening dresses I tend to like a straight, a-line or a bodycon dress as that's what flatters my figure. However even though that's sorted we then get onto the issue of length.
You'd think as there are now petite ranges in several high street stores that I would find a dress that would fit me perfectly but oh no, that's not the case! I have tried on dresses before in many petite ranges but I have only had little success with it as being 5ft2 means that even with petite dresses they can sometimes be just a tad long, usually hitting my knee but not lying above the knee which is the perfect lengh for me.
When it comes to which type of shopping is best for finding dresses I think it depends on what the dress is for. For day dresses as you don't have a certain time frame you need to buy it for then I think that both online shopping and physical shopping are good but if you are looking for an evening dress and especially if it's for a special occasion I do recommend going into all the shops you can and trying on everything (though I did that when I went to Westfield and was there for 4 hours and found nothing haha). Due to that disaster I'm going to have to look in another area of London where there are a tonne of shops like Oxford Street or Knightsbridge- surely there'll be something for someone like me in one of those places but I'll have to update you and let you know what happens.

Loads of exciting events happen in Summer and one of the most exciting things that may happen is that you get invited to a Summer wedding. There may only be officially a few weeks left of Summer, however if we are lucky sometimes the warm weather holds out until about mid to late September, so even if you are going to a wedding in September you can still wear what you would typically wear to a Summer wedding. In this post I've picked out 3 outfits for both women and men who have been invited to a Summer wedding. I've chosen 2 outfits for an outdoor Summer wedding, 2 for a destination wedding and 2 for a black tie/formal wedding. Hopefully these outfits will give you some inspiration if you do have a late Summer wedding coming up or even an early Autumn one.

I'm definitely not an expert on menswear myself but hopefully I've chosen some good outfits for all you men out there. Recently I was set a challenge to put together a few outfits that will take you from the office to happy hour. I was set the challenge by T.M Lewin who are a London based British heritage brand that sells and focuses on traditional but yet stylish menswear however they also sell sophisticated shirts, jackets, skirts and trousers for women too. Their brand shows you that work wear doesn't always have to be boring and drab, you can wear interesting and stylish clothes to the office, it's just about knowing how to style the pieces you already have in your wardrobe, whilst incorporating new pieces to freshen up your look.
Look 1- The Classic
If you are someone who likes to play safe with your outfit, for example you like to wear neutral colours, then just adding a little detail to something can make that neutral outfit a little more interesting. Here I've gone for the T.M Lewin Fitted White Print Collar Shirt, a New Look black pencil skirt and also a black court shoe and black blazer from New Look as well.
Look 2- All about that print
This look is definitely for someone who is not afraid to wear something that will stand out. Swans are beautiful creatures, so why not wear some on your shirt? With this Semi Fitted Black and White Swan Print Shirt from T.M Lewin you too can look just as elegant and strikingly beautiful like a swan that's gliding on the water however of course you will be gliding through both your professional and your social life. I decided to put it with the Jenna Black Stretch Trousers also from T.M Lewin, some black court shoes from New Look and also a lovely dark red blazer from New Look as well.
Look 3- A pop of colour
This look would be for the woman who doesn't like to wear black all the time, or maybe they don't like black at all, so they'd rather wear an outfit that's colourful and something that maybe has some print to it too. So for this outfit I've gone for a printed dress, grey court shoes and a pink blazer all from New Look.
Now for some menswear which is what T.M Lewin specialises in. I have to show you a selection of some of the Slim Fit Shirts as they are very sleek looking and they come in a range of fabulous colours too (there's even one that you don't need to iron as it doesn't crease-how great is that!).

So here's a different post for you today and it's a fashion post in fact- an outfit of the day (or OOTD for short of course). This is my go-to kind of everyday look if I want to look put together so I can go anywhere throughout the day and just fit into whatever situation and environment I'm in. On this day we went for a look round Harrods and this photo was taken in front of where the lifts were on the Women's Wear floor, we went here because it was the only place that had the best lighting and also it was out of view from all the staff and other customers haha. After that we looked around the Chanel section which was a dream and the staff made you feel quite welcomed actually. One of the staff asked if we wanted to look at some of the jewellery out of the glass casing which was nice of her to say even though clearly we were just looking, but it's the thought and service that counts. Maybe we actually looked quite classy and sophisticated that day, so we looked liked we had that kind of money to spend- only joking! but it felt great haha.

I'm a big fan of online shopping and recently I've been doing a lot of it, so I'd thought I would share with you what my favourite fashion and beauty stores are and what particular pieces I tend to buy from each shop.
Ok first I'll start off with a long time favourite of mine which is New Look. I've been shopping at New Look since I was about 12 or 13 and I still think they always bring out amazing trend pieces and classic must-haves that everyone needs in their wardrobe. To be honest I buy almost anything from New Look however if I had to pick favourite things to buy it would be their shoes and outerwear as you can buy incredibly stylish shoes, boots, jackets and coats for really affordable prices, but like I've mentioned I love the whole shop and if I could I would probs buy every single thing in there haha.
Next up is Asos. My favourite things to buy from Asos has to be dresses and jeans and I tend to get them from the Petite section as I know that they will fit me well (I'm about 5ft 2inches tall, or at least that's how tall I was when I last measured myself). Recently I bought a few pairs of their own brand straight cut jeans and I've worn them so much. They are like a cross between bootcut and skinny jeans so they gently glide over any boots you wear but without completely covering them up like what would happen when people used to wear bootcut jeans. I have them in a light wash denim, a black denim and a dark denim colour and I love them!
Now for makeup! 90% of my makeup is bought in Boots stores, unless there's a brand I can't get there however most of the time you will be able to find your favourite beauty brands in Boots.There are so many reasons why I love it. Firstly they sell both drugstore and high end beauty, perfume plus health products, you get points with anything you buy (4 points for every £1 which is amazing) so it's the best points system I've come across and also they do click and collect if you can only buy a certain brand online, so that's amazing too.Also if you shop there regularly they sometimes send you vouchers through the post which can be really useful, like say if you spend £20 you'll get 200 points etc, so that's really great too.
My next choice seems like it would be a bit of a pricey shop for me to spend money in however if you want to say invest in a designer handbag or if there's a sale on and everything's reduced then House of Fraser is a fab shop to buy from. Like I mentioned I would usually buy higher end pieces like designer handbags or high end makeup and perfume from them, but they also sell highstreet brands like Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins on there so sometimes I will order some shoes and clothes from there. Like Boots they also do a great points system called Recognition points where you earn points every time you shop and eventually you'll get up to a point where you'll be able to get money off your purchase or you may be able to get a product for free with your points. Like all these shops they have a Clik & Collect service, but theirs is my fave as you can collect your order the next day which is absolutely brilliant.
Another longtime favourite of mine is Topshop of course. I would say Topshop is more of a trend based store so I do tend to buy all my trendy pieces from there however they also do fab vest tops that seem to last for a really long time and of course they are famous for their jeans which I love too. My favourite jeans are the Leighs however I have one pair of Orson jeans, a ripped blue Jamie pair and a coated Joni pair, so yes I am a big fan of Topshop jeans and I think that they are well worth the money.
Forever 21 is a new favourite of mine. To me it's like a more affordable Topshop, both shops have a similar style and vibe to them however I like Forever 21 for their bags and coats & jackets. Specifically their bags as they do amazing inspired/dupes of designer handbags that most of the time look just like the real thing, they are amazing for that!

I never usually make playlists but for some reason two nights ago I had an idea to create a 'fashion playlist'- so songs that would sound perfect on the catwalk or perhaps music you would put on in the background whilst someone's on a fashion shoot. I don't usually do outfit posts that often but over the last few months I've been taking photos of some of my workwear outfits just so I have an idea of the types of outfits I've liked wearing recently. Not all of the pieces I've chosen are new, however I think you can easily recreate these looks with similar clothes you have in your wardrobe.

I don't usually do haul posts that often but not too long ago I went shopping for some new spring/summer pieces. I headed to two shops, H&M and New Look and I luckily found exactly what I wanted to find.
First from New Look I got this lovely short denim dress. Denim is very in now what with all the 70s trends going on right now, however because I'm short I find it difficult to wear the classsic 70s style jumpsuits and long denim dresses, so this short dress is right up my street as it suits my petite frame. Plus I love the frayed detailing at the bottom of the dress, it just adds a little something to it. It costs £22 which I think is a great price too.

Next up is a basic black t-shirt from H&M. I got it in the XS size thinking it would still be roomy enough for me but actually it's a slightly tighter fit than expected so I went back not too long after and got the Small as well for the days where I want to wear it in a more casual and relaxed way. It cost only £3.99.
Also from New Look I got these cool patterned trousers for £14.99. I was looking for some smart/casual trousers for a while that weren't just black so these fit the bill what with them being a kind of mosaic black and white design.
Last but not least I got some sunnies from H&M for £5.99 . These ones have a brown tortoiseshell design to them which I love. The frames are quite big and they are quite square shaped at the top but slightly rounded at the bottom, so I found these suited me pretty well (I think anyway haha). They also had some gorgeous cat eye ones in the same design but at the time I wasn't sure whether they looked too much on me or not. Maybe if I change my mind I'll go back and get those too, we'll see.

Not too long ago I talked about my bag collection and now that we are definitely well into winter I thought it would be fun to do a few posts about my boot collection as it will be spring before we even know it. In part 1 I'm going to talk about my flat boot collection as I feel they are definitely the essential type of boots to have as you need to wear them most days during this time of year.
The everyday, go with everything black boots

These low heeled black boots from New Look are definitely my most used pair of boots and they are also my most recent pair too. They go with pretty much any outfit and so if I have to rush out of the door I quickly put these on. They are still available now, so I will link them here.
The brown buckled boots
These are my only pair of brown boots that I have. I would described these as a hybrid between Chelsea boots and ankle style riding boots. They were from the teenage section of the Boden website, so they were a bit of an investment, however they are really good boots to have in your collection. I like that these are dark brown boots because for me they are a lot easier to wear than tan brown coloured boots as they go with more outfits.
The boots perfect for a rainy day
Ok first of all I apologise if you see any dirt on these boots and if you do the reason is because I only really wear these boots when we've had really bad rainy weather. I used to wear them as very casual everyday boots, but then I realised that they didn't really look that good on me, so now I don't wear them as much. They were from Asos but I can't remember what brand they were from, not that it actually matters now because you can't buy them any more haha. Let's just say I'm glad that I've found a good reason to wear these boots again now.
The biker boots

The trusty biker boots. I think everyone should have a pair of black biker boots. They are great for adding a bit of edge to an outfit with very little effort. These ones are quite baggy as well, so they give off this really relaxed vibe. Again because these are black they go with most outfits, however I think they look really great with jeans, especially ripped jeans.
