I'm back with a new beauty review! With all the hype that you get from #viral products on TikTok and Instagram, I think it's nice to have a simple but useful written review to actually tell you what a product is like. My latest product that I've bought is the new e.l.f Glow Reviver Tinted Lip Oil which is e.l.f's take on the lip oil trend that's been all over social media. Last year I bought the Dior version which I have to say was a great product, but does this one compare? If you want to find out, read on below...
Within the last couple of years lip oils have taken over from lip glosses. From the promise of leaving lips more moisturised from their traditional counterparts, to claims of making your lips fuller and plumper, these lip oils pretty much promise the same things. The e.l.f Glow Reviver Tinted Lip Oil comes in 7 shades, from those with a light wash of colour to those that are much more pigmented. The shade I decided to buy first was Pink Quartz, a very softly tinted glass pink shade. This shade is actually quite sheer which is why I haven't taken an arm swatch photo as it wouldn't show up enough on the photo. I didn't find this a problem as I wanted the first shade I bought to be a light pigmented one, so that I could wear it over lipsticks for days when my lips are feeling too dry to wear matte lipsticks by themselves.
The ingredients include squalane, apricot oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil and pomegranate oil, plenty of natural substances that help to plump, smooth and soothe your lips the longer you wear the product. Claims that e.l.f promise includes: Non- sticky hydrating lip oil with a high- gloss finish, Plush oversized cushion applicator hugs lips, Infused with lip-loving ingredients to nourish your pout, Sheer was of colour, Fresh minty scent and Can be worn on it's own or over lipstick. I have to say that I do in fact agree with these terms as it's not sticky at all, it has a sheer finish, it does have a massive applicator and it does have a lovely but not overpowering mint scent.
As you can see from the image above, it really does have a great doe foot applicator, so no matter how big or small your lips are you will get a good amount of product on your lips. I tend to dip it twice just so that I get a real glass finish to the lips which I've been loving at the moment!
From looking at the face photo above, Pink Quartz does look clear on my lips however I promise that in real life it does have a sheer pink colour to it (blame the winter light for the lack of brightness!). Overall I think that for £8 this lip oil is amazing and it really does compare to the Dior version which is more than three times the price, which is ridiculous in my opinion! They both have a sheer wash of colour, have a minty scent and they both do keep your lips feeling and looking more moisturised than before putting any product on. I very highly recommend this product!
Let me know if you've tried the new lip oil from e.l.f and what you think of it.
Thanks for reading.

So it' been a while since I've actually written a post...oh dear. Sometimes life just gets a bit busy and you get caught up with the everyday mundane things that you have to do in life that there's not enough time to do the things you actually want to do. For me this includes having the time to blog, but anyway I'm back with a new concealer to review- the NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Concealer. For years I have used the same concealer combination which is using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer on my face and the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer under the eyes however for a while now I've wanted to find a concealer that works great for both purposes not just one. There have been many new concealers that have been released recently however this one particularly caught my eye because people were saying that it is a dupe for the new Fenty Pro Filt'r concealer. Now I don't have that one to compare it too, so I'm just going to tell you about this one instead.
As I couldn't get hold of this in a store when it first came out I decided to order 4 shades from the Cult Beauty website as I didn't know exactly what shade I would be. The ones I bought were Fair, Alabaster, Light Ivory & Vanilla which is the exact order from lightest to darkest that would suit my skin tone. It turns out that Light Ivory was the one that suited me the most for now, so that's the one I tested out.
I put this on a Saturday at around 2pm and tested it both under the eyes and on the rest of my face and used it as my only base product so I could give it a proper test as a lot of the time I use concealer as my only base product as I don't have time to put on both concealer and foundation most days. When you apply it it almost glides onto the skin seamlessly with the doe foot applicator and the formula feels very soft and comfortable on the skin however be warned as you have to work quickly as it does set pretty quickly, so as soon as you apply it make sure you blend it into the skin well and then it will start to set. I still used powder on top as I have oily/oily combination skin but if you have normal or dry skin then of course you may not want to powder it at all. Formula wise it's pretty full coverage which I was so happy with as this was what I wanted. It also lasted well without any major problems as it wore for 7 hours before I noticed any tiny parts of concealer disappearing or before my skin got particularly oily at all. So if you are in the market for a new concealer I definitely recommend you purchase this one. It's £8 so it's at an affordable price and it should soon be available in UK drugstores, so basically Boots and Superdrug, not just online. I'll put the photo of the swatches in as well so you can look at the difference in the first 4 shades.
I know, it's a bold statement to make however I truly believe that this is the best eyeshadow palette at the drugstore! This palette was actually the first time I'd tried any makeup by Revolution and after using this palette I am already very impressed by the brand. This edition is a collaboration with now one of my favourite Youtuber's ever and that is Soph from the channel sophdoesnails (she used to specialise in nail tutorials but now focuses on makeup tutorials). I've only been subscribed to Soph's channel for about 2 months now but she's very quickly become my favourite Youtuber at the moment as she puts out both original and entertaining beauty content, whether that's makeup tutorials, reviews, makeup challenges her videos are just brilliant. I also feel that I can relate to her the most out of all of the channels I watch as she's of similar age to me and she buys and tests out the same type of beauty products to me, which is mainly drugstore but with a sprinkle of high end products now and then. As you will find out from the review I personally think that she's done an incredible job at producing her own eyeshadow palette and you can tell even just from the shades she's chosen to the eyeshadow textures that she surely knows what she's talking about when it comes to makeup.
The palette consists of 24 shades of both warm and cool tones that range from your everyday neutrals to your brights and even your shimmer shades. On the whole they are extremely pigmented, the only snag is that when you apply the shimmers with a brush they don't pack as much of a punch as they would if you use your finger to apply them with, but isn't that the same with most shimmery and sparkly eyeshadows? I think so! There are 10 shimmer shades and the rest are either completely matte or have slightly more of a satin matte finish to them. I think that this palette has a great balance of mattes and shimmers so that you can create a variety of looks. Another great thing about this palette is that the shadows last all day and don't crease on my eye lids, which is great news. I also feel that this palette will suit any skin tone as there are colours to suit anyone's complexion and eye colour, so well done Soph on doing that. I'll leave the swatches of the shadows below. The day I swatched these the natural daylight wasn't the best so just bear that in mind!
I hope you can tell from the swatches that these shadows are so pigmented that there is no dud colour in this palette. I highly recommend this palette, oh also did I forget to mention that it's only £10. Yes you read that right, this palette only costs £10. £10!!! It's available to buy on the Superdrug website and the Tam Beauty website who produce Revolution products. Honestly please do go and purchase this palette, you won't regret it and as it's so affordable you'd be a fool not to.
I feel like it's been a while since I bought any new makeup (which is rare for me) however recently I felt like trying out some newly released products from the drugstore and one of those products was the Rimmel The Only 1 Matte lipsticks. It's been ages since I've tried anything new from Rimmel, so I thought that I'd give these a try. Recently matte lips have been the talk of the town when it comes to lip products and it's not hard to see why-they give off more pigment than sheerer finishes and they last longer than other finishes. I decided to pick up 3 of the shades from the Only 1 line, these were 700 Trendsetter, 200 Salute & 610 High Flyer. Trendsetter is a browny nude colour that would be great for everyday or if you like wearing more earthy tones, on paler skin tones it might show up more as a light brown however it still would be a great shade to wear. Salute is a gorgeous mid warm toned pink shade that I feel would also suit a lot of people as it's more of a neutral warm shade of pink than a really bright warm toned pink, so it would be easier to wear and it would be a fabulous shade for this spring and summer. High Flyer is definitely the most unique shade out of the bunch as it's somewhere between a hot pink and a rasberry red shade if you see what I mean. It's such a beautiful shade which you'll see when I put a photo of the swatches below.
If you watch lots of Youtube videos or you read plenty of blogs, you will certainly know who Tanya Burr is and you will know that she has her own makeup range. Very recently she released her new collection called the Soft Luxe Collection which has a range of eyeshadow quads, nail varnishes and matte lip glosses. I knew I wanted to try something from the range so I decided to get one of the matte lip colours in the shade Martha Moo which is cutely named after Tanya's puppy Martha. I decided to go for this one because it's a slightly different kind of shade to some other liquid lipsticks I've seen before as it's a browny pink colour and I haven't seen any other brands do that kind of shade before.
This soft matte lip colour glides on very easily to the lips and it takes about 5 minutes for it to properly set, so you have some time to apply it and to layer the colour as much as you like. Like with all of Tanya's other lip products the pigmentation is flipping amazing so you don't need to worry about the colour not standing out because trust me it does. Once it's dry it sets down to a comfortable matte finish, liquid lipstick type feel and it doesn't budge for hours ( it lasted about 7 hours on me and that's with having 3 meals and drinks throughout the day). It's such a great lip product, I love it! One thing to note is that it does dry a bit darker than when you first put it on but like I mentioned the colour you get from this shade is a brown pink shade which gives you that 90s lip look, but a more subtle version of it if you like.
