So it's 2014 beauty favourites time! I'm very excited to write this post, especially as I've been reading so many 2014 favourite posts and watching loads of videos of 2014 beauty favourites. First off I thought I would mention the brilliant Colab Dry Shampoo by Ruth Crilly (review here). It's the best dry shampoo simply because it doesn't leave loads of white residue that clogs up your hair, instead it cleans your hair and gives it that boost that it needs after 2 or more days after properly washing your hair. Next is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush(yes I know I didn't wash it before I took this photo, but we can handle that). I use this brush for contouring my cheeks(and sometimes my chin when I've eaten a tad to much haha). It's the perfect size as it fits under your cheek bones really well and it picks up the perfect amount of product, so you can never be heavy handed while using it. Real Techniques are by far the best brush brand, I really love their brushes.
Moving onto makeup, this year was all about the lip product for me. I really love lip products in general, but this year I found so many that I loved using. The Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lip Glosses are definitely the best lip glosses I tried to date for sure as they are really opaque, very moisturising, they smell gorgeous and they last a really long time on the lips. I did a review of one of them which you can check out here if you are intrigued. I have two colours: Aurora and Picnic In The Park. Aurora is more of a cooler and slightly purple toned pink shade, while Picnic In The Park is definitely more of a warm shade of pink. I really like both of them, I can't choose which colour I prefer.
I was lucky to win a mini giveaway back in the autumn and I won this Kiko Lip Gloss Pencil. This is a very unique product in my opinion as it has the staying power of a traditional lip crayon, but it goes on like a lip gloss. Once it settles down it goes matte and leaves you with a lovely nude shade that would compliment many skin tones. I'm so happy I won that product, though if I had a Kiko store near me I would definitely buy it myself.
Next up is the very exciting Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipstick (review here). These products have one of the best formulas ever! They apply soooo nicely onto the lips as the formula feels very soft and hydrating. Once you've applied two coats of this lip stain the colour will stay on all day without any budging what so ever. I have two colours: 04 Peach Club and 09 Happy Nude Year (love the name of that one!) Peach Club on me actually comes out a bright red/coral because I already have very pigmented pink lips, but it's still a nice colour, while Happy Nude Year is more of a slightly brighter everday pink and I am loving this right now, it's a beautiful colour!
Last but not least is an eyeshadow that I've rediscovered during 2014. It's the stunning L'Oreal Color Infaillible eyeshadow in 021 Sahara Treasure. This is the perfect antique gold colour as it's not too yellow in tone so it's a very wearable shade of gold. If you want to add a hint of it, pop it in the centre of your eye, if you want to wear it all over the lid it creates that perfect metallic eye look.
I really hope you enjoyed reading my 2014 beauty favourites, what were your beauty favourites of 2014?

It's just amazing that they can create a formula that feels so soft and lightweight but it has heavy duty staying power. It's amazing. x
DeleteNice blog Post!! Really like your Blog Design :)
ReplyDeletewww.sophias-fashion.de
Thanks, I'm glad you like the design. I'm not the most technical person in the world so I'm happy it doesn't look like it needs a change because I would find it difficult to change the design haha. x
DeleteHow long do you use the dry shampoo before you do a regular shampoo wash? I've always wondered as fas as the residue build up.
ReplyDeleteOn second day hair I use it in the evening before I go to bed and then I use it in the morning the next day and then later that evening I wash my hair again. So basically I wash my hair every other day. x
DeleteReally nice and useful post, thank you. I don't have many beauty favorites, but I really like using argan oil and curl cream for my hair. Do you have any experience with this? Can you recommend anything?
ReplyDeleteHOPELESSWANDERER
Thanks! No I don't use any argan oil as I naturally have quite normal to greasy hair which I wash every other day and I don't use any curl cream as my hair is naturally straight with slight kinks at the end, but I straighten my hair to make it look completely straight. But I know a few people with curly hair who like using mousse products for their hair if that helps. x
DeleteI love the Tanya Burr lipglosses. Afternoon Tea is my favourite :) x
ReplyDeleteJordanAlice
They are the best ever! I don't even feel tempted to try any other kind of lip gloss right now, they are that good. :) x
DeleteI can't believe I haven't tried the tanya burr lip glosses, I think it's because I'm obsessed with matte lips atm, when I get out of the matte phase I have to try it! My favourite beauty product has definitely been the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, worth every penny!
