A Look at some of the A/W 14 Fashion Trends

I know that everyone is now talking about what the trends are for S/S 15, but for us everyday people who don't work in the fashion industry, we are still concentrating on the current A/W 14 trends.

Red

Red is a great colour for Autumn and Winter as it's a sophisticated colour that completely reminds you of this time of year with it being the key colour of Christmas and all (yep I said the word already). Dark red shades are the main focus of this trend. Blood red, or more vampy red shades are mainly shown in these photos, with the exception of the lighter dress worn in the middle of the second photo. Personally I'm not a big fan of dark, vampy shades, or even dark reds for that matter as I usually gravitate towards more orange red shades, but I will try to give this trend a go by probably wearing a red top. I'm not confident to wear an all red outfit just yet.

60s

This is my favourite trend of the lot. I loooove the 60s style. If you're like me and you have an almost completely straight body with no curves, then this is the perfect silhouette for you to wear as most dresses are very A Lined in shape, so it compliments that kind of body shape. Obviously it doesn't matter what you look like you can wear whatever you want, but for me this look suits my shape.I adore the shift dresses, the high leg boots and the lady like bags that are shown here. It's just as very pretty and girly look. As you can see from above you can mix this style with anything, from monocrome to pastels, geometric shapes to metallics, you can really broaden your look.

Folk

This is a hippy but girly look that has an element of 70s style to it. With floaty fabrics and really pretty woodland and floral designs, this look is very apt for the ever changing look of nature that goes on during this time of year. I love the clash of textures that are going on here, with thinner materials for the dresses, but more heavier materials for the cover ups , like the short black coat and the long grey cardi that resembles the shape of a kimono, which we all know was ridiculously popular in the summer. It's a very romantic look. Plus these clothes look very comfy to wear whilst being very stylish at the same time.

    1. I have black knee high boots, but I want to get a brown pair as well. I'm also curious as to what over the knee boots would look like on me. x
