I like many other people would not have thought that we would've still been in lockdown by this point. It's been almost 2 months now since Britain went into quarantine and one thing that has kept me sane other than watching loads of tv and movies is listening to some of my favourite songs and discovering new favourites along the way. So today I thought I would share with you the best music that's out right now and mention some classics that have kept me together at this crazy time! First up anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed, literally obsessed with The 1975. I've been an avid fan since 2016 when their second album was released and I've seen them live twice at The O2 in London (I was so lucky that I got to see them this February before we went into lockdown) and both times they were just incredible!! It's not just the music that I love about them though, it's the image and the band's ethos as a whole. They will be releasing their new album called Notes On A Conditional Form on 22nd May, so very soon and I've been so excited every time they've released a single from the new album. My favourite like many others is If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know) which is a very up tempo eighties sounding track that instantly makes you feel so much better than you did before! Also their latest song that they've released called Guys is such a sweet slow paced song that Matty wrote as a love letter to his band mates and especially listening to it in quarantine it makes you feel even more emotional than it would normally. They are the best band not just of this new decade, but of the last decade and they have to be my favourite band ever. Big statement to make, but that's just honestly how I feel!
Next up is Dua Lipa's new album Future Nostalgia and omg this is such an amazing album! As soon as I heard Don't Start Now, the first single released from the album, I just knew that this was going to be such an iconic record because that song alone just encompasses the title as it sounds so new, yet it has that disco sound to it. Some of my favourite songs include Cool, Levitating, Physical & Hallucinate. I was actually going to see her this month until Corona virus cancelled everyone's plans however luckily she rescheduled the tour for January next year and I cannot wait to finally see her live!
Something else I've been listening to a lot is 80s music and I think it's because I know that when I listen to any music from that decade it will instantly lift my mood, which at this moment in time is something I need as some days are harder than others to live in during these times. One artist from that era I've been listening to a lot is Madonna. It's hard to pick a favourite era of Madonna's career, but I think you can't go wrong with her early records as they just have that feel good factor to them that makes you want to get up and dance. My favourite songs from the early days are Into The Groove, Dress You Up, Like a Virgin, Burning Up and of course Holiday!
I hope you liked my post on what I've been listening to recently. Let me know what music you've been listening to in the comments below.
Stay safe and see you soon

You know when every once in a while a new album comes out that it just utterly brilliant that you literally can't stop listening to it, it's that good. Well this year that album of choice for me is Bruno Mars 24K Magic and there are so many reasons for this.
Even though this album is pretty much brand new it has flavours of older sounds sprinkled through the whole album, which is my kind of thing. We are talking elements of 70s/80s soul/R&B which again appeals to me hugely as I am constantly listening to that kind of music myself on pretty much a daily basis-reason 1 covered.
Another reason why this has to be the best album of the year for sure is the songs themselves-I'll quickly give you a run down of them all. First we have 24K Magic which is the title of the album, a brilliant opener for the start of the album, it's a song to get the party started with as it's perfectly upbeat enough to dance to and with it's playful lyrics you can't help but sing along with it and it's super catchy.
Chunky is your ultimate jokey tongue-in-cheek song basically about him wanting a girl with a big bum, so like a modern day version of Baby Got Back but it's got a groovy beat to it (yes I said groovy but this is a retro inspired album so it's ok, I can say that word) and again it's an amazing song to dance to.
Perm is another upbeat song which is about telling people to let their hair down and just enjoy themselves having a good time.
That's What I Like is the first mid-tempo song on the album and it has a cool smooth R&B sound to it that you just want to bop to and it literally is about what he likes in a girl-very self explanatory there.
Versace On The Floor is the first slow tempo song and it's the ultimate sultry love song ever. I actually talked about it in another post which you can read here, it's amazing!
Straight Up & Down is another mid-tempo song which has more of a chilled vibe to it but is has a great beat to it and it's about him wanting to spend time with this girl.
Calling All My Lovelies is the most humorous song on the album apart from Chunky because even though it's a slightly slower song it talks about him being a player calling all his girls up as he can't get hold of the one particular girl he actually really wants to spend time with. It has a very soulful and smooth sound to it which I just love!
Finesse is another feel good song like 24K Magic but personally I prefer it as I just love the word and I haven't heard it in a song before plus it's such a great song to move to, this would certainly get me up on the dance floor for sure!
To Good To Say Goodbye is the last song on the album and it's another slow-tempo song about him not wanting his relationship to end and that it's too good of a relationship to let go of. It's a great ballad and I always find myself singing along to it when it comes on.
So those are the song described, but there's one more reason I love this album and that is that it's a complete variety of songs and situations and Bruno doesn't take himself too seriously when it comes to the songs, some are goofy, dancey and fun and some are slow and romantic but what it shows is that variety is the spice of life, especially when it comes to making an album.
I hope you enjoyed my post on my favourite album of the year. What has been you're favourite album of the year? I'd love to know.

I've always loved Annie Lennox's music but I never listened to a full album of hers before until about a month ago when I was in my dad's car and he put the album on. It's her Diva album which came out in 1992 and I have to say after listening to it once I was completely hooked and I can safely say it's now one of my favourite albums ever!
After I first heard it I then decided to find it on Spotify and I saved it so I had all the songs in my playlist. The main reason why I love this album so much is that even though the general sound of it is quite sophisticated it has a mixture of genres added to it, so you can't say it's specifically a pop or R&B or whatever album it's just a brilliant work of art.
My favourite songs from the album are Walking On Broken Glass, Legend In My Living Room, Precious, Money Can't Buy It and Littel Bird...ok ok I know it looks like I love almost all the songs but it's true I do and that's why it's hard to choose one favourite song.
If you want to listen to the whole album search for it on Spotify and you'll find it there, I really recommend you do as it's a fantastic piece of music.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Have you ever listened to Diva, and if you have what do you think of it, I'd love to know.
