So for after months of not blogging I finally have a new post to share with you! I recently bought some new makeup brushes with my Superdrug points (which btw took an age to build up!) as I realised that I had virtually no face brushes apart from a powder brush that I use everyday and for a while now I've wanted to try applying my base products with brushes to see how they compare to applying without them. I decided to buy one concealer brush, one foundation brush and a small setting brush to set my under eye concealer all from Real Techniques.
The Expert Concealer Brush is the perfect brush for applying your under eye concealer with, especially if you have big dark under eye circles like me as the brush fits into your socket so you can cover all of the area that needs covering. The way I apply it is to swipe the concealer from the applicator first, then get my brush to pat in the concealer into the skin-don't swipe otherwise you'll just sheer out everything which stops you from covering the dark circle! Once I've done one under eye I then powder that under eye straight away to avoid any creasing and then I move onto the other eye. I'm so impressed with this brush and have since bought another one as I wanted a backup. I highly recommed you get it, it's brilliant.
The Setting Brush is another one I cannot recommend highly enough as it picks up the right amount of powder that you need to set under the eye, but without making the area look cakey so it's a must- have for anyone who needs to set powder to prevent creasing. It's also useful to powder your nose with (if you pardon the expression) as that area can easily look over powdered too, so this brush is perfect for that.
The Brush Crush 301 Complexion Brush is one of the newest releases from Real Techniques and comes in this stunning unicorn style purple and gold design, it's very pretty! But aside from looking pretty it does a good job at applying foundation or concealer too (if you just use concealer and not foundation for your base). You can either use a patting, stippling or a sweeping motion depending on the coverage you want. I like a medium coverage so I use a mixture of patting and swiping the foundation into my skin and that seems to work for me. I wouldn't say this is a totally essential brush to have, however it does make the foundation application much quicker than if you were to just use your fingers to blend everything in.
I'm glad I bought these brushes as they have made a great difference to my makeup routine by making it both quicker and easier than it was before to apply my base. If you are looking for some great base brushes then you should definitely take a look at these when you are next in store.
Thank you so much for reading my post.
See you soon

It's been a while since I've done a proper beauty haul. Apart from picking up one or two makeup products while I pop to Boots to buy the essentials, I haven't actually bought that many new makeup items. About 3 weeks ago I think FeelUnique had a sale on lots of items from all of the beauty categories that they sell, so I couldn't help but take a look myself and luckily I found some really great products at some brilliant prices, so I'm gunna talk about what I bought while also giving you a mini review of each product (if I've used it yet). So lets get started!
One of the first brands I had a look through was Maybelline as I've been obsessed with their lipsticks recently, so I had to buy a backup of the Maybelline Colorsensational in Nude Embrace. I actually wrote a review of this recently as it's been my most worn lipstick of the year so far. The reason why I love it is because it's the perfect brown/beige nude lipstick for my skin tone (and it would suit many people too) also it's in a matte formula so it lasts for a long time on the lips too. For this reason I bought another shade from the range called Melted Chocolate which is more of a proper milk chocolate shade, so if you love brown lipsticks you'll love this too.

One of my favourite mascaras is the Maybelline Lash Sensational so I wanted to try the waterproof version which comes in the same packaging but with light blue writing on it. So far I've been loving the waterproof version of this mascara. It does exactly the same as the original as it curls, volumises and gives so much legnth and definition to the lashes whilt also providing the blackest of black mascara you can get. It's been so useful recently as the UK has gotten quite humid recently, even when it hasn't been that hot like it was a few weeks or so ago.

Real Techniques is one of my most used brush brands other than Zoeva and I've been wanting to try the Real Techniques Powder Brush for a while now so I'm glad that I've got my hands on it. I haven't tried it yet but it's massive so it should be a good brush just from looking at it.

Another mascara that I've wanted to try for a while has been the Maybelline Great Lash mascara as it's been a makeup classic for many years (it came out in the 1970s), so I decided to buy it. I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with it actually. It does give your lashes a good lengthening effect, but that's about it really. It doesn't create enough volume or curl for me and it also does smudge on my upper eye area, so this is a product that I wouldn't recommend unfortunately.

I've been trying out a lot of different concealers recently and one that lots of beauty lovers go on and on about it the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer. I bought it in the Neutralizer shade which gives a more yellow base to the concealer, but for me this works as I have very, very dark under eye circles and unfortunately as mine are hereditary I can never get rid of them, so a concealer for under the eyes is a must for me. This one is great as it covers really well so you can't see any veins or grey areas but it doesn't look cakey which can happens sometimes if you buy the wrong type of concealer. I'm really impressed with this concealer so I definitely recommend this for sure.

I saw this little brush set in Superdrug and I just had to pick it up. It comes packed with three mini brushes from the Real Techniques collection. There's the mini face brush, the mini shading brush and the mini foundation brush. My idea is to take these brushes with me when I'm travelling or when I have to reapply my makeup on the go. I'm going to use the mini face brush as my powder brush as it can actually pick up plenty of product even though it is small. The mini shading brush will be my on the go eye shadow brush to pack the colour onto my eyes quickly but I think I'm going to use the mini foundation brush as a brush to blend in my concealer as I find it a bit too small to use for my normal foundation application. However that doesn't matter too much as most of the time I put my foundation on using my fingers anyway. In terms of strength the brushes last well when washed as none of the bristles have fallen out so far, which I know wouldn't have happened anyway because Real Techniques brushes are such great quality. They perform so well for affordable makeup brushes. I really recommend these brushes a lot as they perform brilliantly well and they are the perfect size to pop in your bag wherever you are heading off to.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
