Recently I've been trying to mix up my makeup a bit so I've been adding a hint of colour to my eye makeup for a change. I remember a few years back I experimented with lots of different shades of eye liner, however this year it's all been about changing up my eyeshadow colours.

So I thought I would share with you all my recently worn most colourful eye makeup look. To start off the base of this look and the central part of this whole look is one of the Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows in the shade 31 which is a gorgeous bright, slightly purple toned 80s looking blue (to me it's the kind of blue shade they wore in the 80s, oh and a little heads up- 1980s styles and pieces are in for AW16/17 so look out for those pieces on the high street soon). Anyway continuing on from that I put shade 07 in the inner corner of the eye for my highlight shade to brighten up my close set eyes. Next up I lined my upper lash line with the L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim in Intense Black and I then finished off the look with the new L'Oreal Paris Miss Hippie Mascara which I love right now! It just makes your lashes look super long and adds loads of definition too with a hint of a curl so you don't need to use eyelash curlers with it.

I simply finished off the look with adding the Seventeen Mirror Shine lipstick in the shade Beehive which is a gorgeous sheeny and slightly glossy warm toned baby pink shade-it's such a versatile shade if you want a go-to pale pink as it will go with a variety of makeup looks you'll want to wear if like me you like to try out different makeup looks rather than wearing the same makeup look every day.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think of the look and if you would wear something like this too. I like it because I think it's a fun look but it's not too out there or anything so I think anyone could wear it really which is great.

Not too long ago I received a newsletter e-mail from L'Oreal saying that people could try out their new Nude Magique Cushion foundation, so I filled out my details and then patiently waited for the foundation to arrive so that I could try it out and review it. Not too long after that it arrived and I tried it straight away because I was so excited to use this product as I've never tried anything like it before. I know other brands started making them before (I think Lancome may have been the first?) however this is the first drugstore version so it's quite exciting.

I decided to pick the shade 03 and luckily it pretty much matches my skin tone perfectly so that was lucky! Sometimes when it comes to samples you can pick totally the wrong shade and then it ruins everything which is not great, but thank goodness I didn't this time haha. Anyway this is a very lightweight foundation but I do think it can be built up if you wanted it to provide more coverage for you. One good thing for this time of year is that it has SPF 29, so if you are out in the sun it will provide some sun protection for you which is fab!

As you can see once opened you get a sponge applicator to apply the foundation with. I actually think it's quite a good sponge to apply it with, the only thing I would say is because it's quite a small sponge you will need to wash it after a few uses, at least once a week. I like that you get a mirror with it, it just adds to the cute packaging of the whole thing.

This is what it looks like inside once you've lifted the lid. You see the 'cushion' part straight away and underneath that is where the liquid foundation is. So all you do is get the sponge applicator, pat it into the cushion foundation and then when you apply it you can either pat it in or you can glide it across you're face. What I liked about this is that it was pretty quick to apply and you also didn't need much of the product to stretch around the whole face which is good, but like I mentioned before you will need to add another layer if you want a more medium type of coverage. I still powdered my face afterwards becuase otherwise my makeup will just disappear, so if you have oily-combination skin just keep that in mind, but if you have drier skin then there probably won't be as much need to powder.

What it looks like when it's applied

Overall I do quite like this foundation as I like the compact design of it and the product itself is pretty good. The only thing that puts me off buying it once it's run out is that when it's off promotion it will be £14.99 I think, which personally I think is a bit too pricey for something that's so compact. Maybe if I suddenly had to do a lot of travelling I would think about buying it as I feel it would be great for that but if you're not going far I think the price is just a bit steep for what it is. If you do want to buy it now it's on promotion in Boots and Superdrug for £9.99 which is a much better price, so I highly recommend buying it now if you want to try it out and then if you like it you can stock up on a few before the price increase.

I really hope you liked this review. Have you tried out the Cushion Foundation yet? If you have let me know what you think of it in the comments bellow, I'd love to know.

I'm someone who always buys backups of things that I either need or know that I really, really like and I think you either are a backup person or you're not. When it comes to cosmetics I have a spare makeup bag in my drawer where I keep all of my everyday essentials that I know I would wear all the time. You could also think of it as an emergency makeup bag, so if you had to suddenly pack a makeup bag with all your must haves, then this would be it. So let's begin!

Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder to keep your foundation in place so it doesn't slip off your face, especially with all this abnormally hot weather we've been having recently (UK peeps know that 30 degrees+ is not our normal summer temperature).

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer the most popular concealer in the world (well at least when it comes to the blogging and vlogging community). It covers all spots and blemishes, stays in place all day and is matte enough not to break you out but creamy enough to blend into your skin really well.

L'Oreal Paris Infalliable 24H Matte Foundation is the best foundation that I've found in a long, long time as it covers really well, blends in really easily and stays on for a long time, plus it has a matte finish so you never get that oily feeling you can get with wearing some other foundations. (full review here if you'd like to read more about it).

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick in 235 Nude this is my go to nude lipstick. If I had to pick one to wear for the rest of my life it would be this one. It is a pinky nude with a very subtle hint of brown running through it which means it suits my skin tone very well, but I know it's a shade that will suit so many skin tones so I would recommend it to a lot of people.

Seventeen Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive I discovered this lipstick when I was on the hunt for a pale pink shade that would be great for everyday wear and I really love it. It's actually quite glossy for a lipstick which makes it different to other lipsticks I have in my collection. The one you see in the photo above I actually won with a blog giveaway along with a few other things, so I was soooo happy when I knew this was one of the prizes as I love this lipstick a lot.

Barry M Lip Boss Lip Gloss is a newer version of my favourite older Barry M lip gloss which was in the shade 2, this newever version is pretty much the same nude colour but the shade number is now 5 and I absolutely adore it. If you are looking for the perfect browny nude everyday lip gloss then this is it.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara is the best mascara I've tried in ages as it gives loads of volume, curls your lashes and it makes your lashes look super long, almost like you are wearing slightly natural looking false lashes, it's amazing.

All the eyeliners so I have a few options to choose from. The black pencil eyeliner is one I got free from a magazine a while ago from Model CO, the brown pencil is a L'Oreal one and the black liquid liner is again from L'Oreal and it's without a doubt the easiest liquid eyeliner to use so I'm a big fan of that.

Let me know if any of you like to buy backups of their favourite makeup products, surely I can't be the only one haha.

Hope you enjoyed the post.
